Exis Tech opens a second equipment plant in Senawang
Exis Tech opens its second Senawang factory with a RM25 million first phase. A major expansion, hundreds of skilled jobs and new equipment lines remain planned.

A second manufacturing facility in Senawang
Exis Tech has opened its second semiconductor-equipment factory in Senawang, Negri Sembilan, Malaysia. Phase 1 cost about RM25 million and doubles its existing production floor space. The CCTech subsidiary intends the site to become its principal manufacturing and export base for markets outside China.
Phase 2 is planned for early 2026 through late 2027, requiring over RM100 million more. The fully expanded site would be six times Phase 1's size. Exis Tech projects 600–800 skilled jobs over two to five years, plus 50 personnel for the group's global customer-service network.
Exis brought rotary handlers into the group
CCTech completed a share-based acquisition of Hangzhou Changyi Technology, the holding company associated with Malaysian Exis, during 2023. Exis developed, manufactured and sold integrated-circuit handling equipment, with rotary turret handlers as its core product. CCTech described the acquisition as completing a portfolio spanning gravity, pick-and-place and rotary turret handlers, while combining research capabilities and sales channels.
The EXIS250/300 handler provided a specific example of that engineering base. Exis specified three features for this model:
- A layout supporting up to 24 suction-nozzle stations;
- Vision checks for appearance defects, markings and optical character recognition;
- Bowl feeding and tape-and-reel output in the standard configuration.
Additional configurations supported tray, tape or tube inputs and several output formats. These were product specifications in the 2023 filing; equipment installed at the new factory was not individually identified in the opening announcement.

Development work spans handlers and optical inspection
On Apr 23, 2024, CCTech approved adding Exis as an implementing company for a rotary-handler development and industrialisation project, citing its existing technical experience. Changyi's project location changed from Hangzhou to Neijiang in Sichuan, where another group subsidiary had established a manufacturing base. This was a separate development project in China. The project remained under construction, without realised benefits, at the end of 2024, according to the 2024 annual filing.
STI supplied another part of the group's equipment portfolio. Semiconductor Technologies & Instruments developed two-dimensional and three-dimensional automated optical inspection technology. The group's inspection range covered wafer surfaces and packaged circuits. CCTech described research cooperation with STI on optical technologies for wafer probers.
The Senawang expansion is intended to add STI inspection machines to Exis Tech's local manufacturing portfolio.
