Sazerac plans Kentucky warehouses and a New Albany bottling expansion
Sazerac’s investment plans cover Kentucky barrel-aging warehouses and additional equipment at its New Albany bottling operation in Indiana.

Kentucky barrel-aging capacity
Sazerac plans approximately $1 billion of investment in new barrel-aging warehouses in Campbellsville, Kentucky. The project is expected to create at least 50 jobs. The privately held spirits company owns brands including Fireball and Buffalo Trace.
The company acquired property and sought state tax incentives for the Kentucky project in August 2025. Sazerac described the warehouse project as part of its long-term growth plans.

New Albany equipment investment
Sazerac of Indiana, LLC, operating as Northwest Ordinance Distilling, plans more than $38 million of investment in New Albany, Indiana. The bottling operation’s proposed expenditure includes:
- More than $35 million in new equipment.
- More than $2 million in property improvements.
The New Albany City Council approved a local property-tax abatement on 16 October 2025. The expansion is expected to add 25 full-time positions while retaining 357 existing employees. Construction and equipment installation are expected to begin later in 2025.
Earlier New Albany expansion plans
Northwest Ordinance Distilling’s previous investment announcements included a $48.7 million expansion plan unveiled on 13 August 2021. The facility occupies the former General Mills Pillsbury plant at 707 Pillsbury Lane in New Albany. That proposal included four new processing and bottling lines.
The 2021 allocation comprised $9.3 million for building improvements and $39.4 million for processing and bottling equipment. The company expected the expansion to support market demand and add 50 full-time employees over three years.

A preceding $39.5 million expansion in 2020 had added 50 full-time employees, according to Sazerac’s August 2021 announcement. These historical investment and employment figures relate to the earlier New Albany programme.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered up to $525,000 in performance-based tax credits for the 2021 project, claimable after workers were hired. The proposal remained contingent on city approval of local incentives. Requested property-tax abatements carried estimated savings of $2.8 million over ten years.
