Vegetables are common in many meals, typically, there is at least one type of vegetable in every meal, and many people have a favourite vegetable.

Broccoli is one of the most controversial vegetables, as people love or hate it.

Regardless of what you think of the taste, it’s a pretty cute vegetable and can make learning to draw broccoli fun.

How to Draw Broccoli

Step 1

In this first step of our broccoli drawing guide, we’ll start with the left side of the broccoli.

For the broccoli stem, we will use some smooth lines for the flat base, which is made up of some curved lines connected.

These extend to the left side of the stem, and we also draw some small leaf sections sticking out.

We’ll also start drawing the broccoli head. We’ll draw this with lots of small, irregular lines for the bulbous head of the vegetable.

That’s all we draw for this step; then, you can move on to step 2!

Step 2

In this broccoli drawing step, you must finish the stem’s other side. The broccoli stalk starts relatively thin at the base and thickens as it grows taller.

In this step, we will draw the right side of the stem, and again, these lines will be joined together in different sections, which will help give the stem a more textured look.

You can also add more leaves sprouting from the right side of the broccoli stalk like you did on the other side. Once that’s done, let’s move on to step 3.

Step 3

Let’s draw more of the broccoli’s head to continue with this broccoli drawing guide.

We will be looking for that almost bushy look that broccoli has, and to achieve that; we will expand on what you started in step one.

This means that with a few rough lines, you can outline the different sections of the fluffy broccoli head. These attach to various smaller stems that extend from the main stem.

If all this sounds confusing, the reference image will show you what it should look like.

Once you are happy with how this section looks, move on to step 4, where we will draw the broccoli head.

Step 4

In this step and the next in this guide, we’ll focus on adding more sections to the head of the broccoli design.

As mentioned earlier, the broccoli head is made up of smaller clumps of irregular leaves, which we will be adding in this step.

To do this, add more rounded sections for the broccoli’s head, using the same irregular lines you used for the rest.

These last clumps mostly cover the top centre of the broccoli, as shown in the reference image.

That leaves one final blank section on the broccoli’s head that we’ll fill in as we continue with the final details in the next step.

Step 5

You are now ready to complete the final details in this how-to guide on how to draw broccoli. To this, we add a few more clumps of the uneven head of broccoli.

You should now understand how this works, so adding the next sections shouldn’t be a problem!

After adding, you can proceed to the last step. Before you do that, you can also add some details and ideas.

Step 6

You can top it off with some colour in this final step of broccoli drawing. As you probably know, broccoli is usually completely green, but even if you stick with thiscolourr scheme, there are ways to liven it up.

In our reference image, we used a light green for the stalk and darkercolourr variants for the head of the broccoli.

You can use similar colours for your design, but don’t be afraid to use some unique, custom colours!
